Thank you for your prayers for the Building on Faith process. You have been praying for wisdom as the Elder Council seeks God’s guidance toward a new building to facilitate ministry. God is answering your prayers.
As the Elders reviewed the formal contract documentation establishing a relationship with Building God’s Way (BGW), God showed us a need to clarify the expectations of both BGW and DCC. This is partly to clarify that BGW’s capital campaign aligns with DCC’s mission, vision and values, and partly to clarify our level of commitment to BGW for the actual building construction.
Also, our Business Administrator, Jim Vestigo, recently returned from a national business administrators’ conference where one of the topics was church construction. There he learned of additional opportunities worthy of investigation, including other design-build organizations and capital campaign partners. Conversations with several lending institutions provided information about which organizations may be the best partners for DCC as we continue to pursue Building on Faith.
Through these developments, the Elder Council has put a hold on establishing the contract with BGW including the charrette process until additional information is gathered and reviewed. We believe this is as a direct result of your prayers for wisdom.
Pray! God is answering!
If possible, attend the prayer meetings on Wednesday nights, especially those on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays as Randy Pruitt leads us in prayer for this process.
Pastor Steve will also be seeking prayer champions in each community group. If you are available, email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When Pastor Steve returns from his sabbatical, the Executives (Steve Hardy, Jim Vestigo, and Zach Davidson) will meet to put together a plan to ensure that the research necessary for taking the next step forward in the Building on Faith process is done in a wise, efficient and effective manner.
Our facility need is real and urgent, and we are anxious (as are many of you) to move forward—but with due diligence to ensure that we are moving forward in step with His Spirit, not getting in front of Him, or lagging behind. The Elder Council feels the weight of responsibility for making commitments on behalf of the Lord’s church and his flock.
If you have any questions or thoughts, or are available to help in some capacity, please let us know. Fill out a Communication Card, stop us in the foyer, call the church office, visit us at one of our meetings, or email to email@example.com.
New information and new options require a recalculation of route, but we continue to move toward the same goal: facilities that enable our ministries to pursue our vision, a Growing Community for Christ, walking in truth, living out love, and building on faith.
Thank you again for your prayers and support!
By His Grace,
The DCC Elder Council
