We are not
able to grow beyond our ability to care for the
people.
This is the reason for providing
Caring Ministries at Damascus Community Church.
We purpose to be involved with each other by being
available to those who are going through various
crises: illness, surgery, hospitalization, loss
of a loved one, etc. A visit, a card, a flower,
a gift, a kind word or a hug along with a word of
prayer in a moment of crisis has an amazing effect.
POWERFUL
TOOLS FOR CAREGIVERS is an
educational ministry designed to help family
caregivers take care of themselves while caring
for a relative or friend. This series of classes
was developed by Legacy Caregiver Services and
has been shown to reduce caregiver guilt, anger,
and depression and at the same time improve
caregiver self-care and communication skills.
The Caring Commission will be offering this
series of six classes beginning Thursday,
September 23, 2010, from 3:30–6:00 PM. Brochures
are available in the foyer with more
information. You also may
review the information on line. Pre-register
in the church office by September 16, 2010.
