Parent's Testimonials
Why
I Love DCS!
My husband and I have
attended Damascus Community Church for about
fourteen years. During most of those years, we
were aware that Damascus Christian School
“happened” during the week and seemed like it
must be a good school. Then we enrolled our
daughter in first grade at DCS and my whole
perspective changed. I had no idea how amazing
DCS was! As time passed that first year, one
thing after another would impress me. When the
year began, I noticed that my daughter’s teacher
REALLY prayed for each student in her class
constantly, both during school and at home.
During winter months, I was treated to stories
about the seniors helping her class make
gingerbread houses and pairing up with the
seventh graders for Spirit Week. I think that’s
one of my most favorite things – the intentional
mentoring of younger students by older students.
As I volunteered in reading groups, I was so
impressed by the curriculum. Not only did it
accomplish the subject goals, it also brought in
spiritual, social and emotionally aspects to
enhance the learning.
Since that first
day, I keep seeing new aspects of the school and
its programs. My daughter has been involved in
art, drama, and, to an extent, sports. She loves
cheering on “the cool big kids” she knows at
their games. DCS has become like family to me.
Like the body of Christ in I Corinthians 12, it
is wonderful to see how parents, students,
faculty and staff alike use their gifts and
talents to make DCS an exemplary school. I am so
thankful and feel incredibly blessed that we, as
a family, get to be a part of the DCS body!

"As parents of several DCS students, we can testify
to what an incredible academic and social experience
this school offers. The teachers and administrators
place value on each student and make decisions with
them in mind. Our kids are loved by and spiritually
mentored by their teachers. We have had experience
with others schools which has given us a greater
appreciation for this school. The school mission
is right on – this school partners with the parents!"

"Words cannot express the amount
of peace that we receive in knowing that our seventh
grade son is at a school where he is loved, respected,
educated and guided by the same moral values he
is taught at home. We truly believe God led us to
Damascus Christian School and that it is a true
gift we are thankful for every day."

"As parents, it is important to us to provide our
children with the best education possible. We were
looking for a school that offered a strong Christian-based
academic program, a highly trained and capable staff,
an effective behavior management program, small
class sizes, and a supplementary program for children
with learning difficulties. After touring the Damascus
Christian School campus and speaking with the principal,
we were convinced we had found a school that could
meet all of our needs.
We decided to enroll our children
at Damascus Christian, and we are so glad that we
did! Our children have made amazing academic progress
since attending the school. They have bonded with
the staff and have made important friendships with
the other students. They no longer complain about
having to go to school. Instead, they are actually
excited to go to school and they tell family and
friends about how much they like being at DCS. Most
importantly, we have been excited to see how our
children have grown spiritually in their personal
relationships with Jesus Christ. We are so thankful
that the Lord brought us to Damascus Christian!
Our children are truly blessed to be receiving such
a high quality education in a Christian environment."
There are numerous benefits we
experience as a DCS school family. We appreciate
the teachers as mature Christian role models. We
love having the kindergarten through twelfth grades
together on the same campus with the older students
mentoring the younger ones. It is such a positive
influence having Christian peers with godly values.
We love the Bible-centered curriculum which helps
our boys develop a Biblical worldview. Smaller class
sizes, high scholastic standards, outstanding school
spirit, sports and extra-curricular activities,
and a safe environment all blend together to give
us confidence and great trust in Damascus Christian.
The sacrifices we may have to make are given back
over and over in the many benefits we realize through
the school. God gave us our children; we need to
do our best for them. We believe for a quality Christian
education DCS is the place. We wish every child
had the opportunity to attend Damascus Christian
School!"
