Teacher's
Testimonials
"After eighteen years at Damascus
Christian School, I still have to "pinch"
myself to see if the privilege of teaching
here is real. To be used by the Lord ministering
in others' lives is a desire of mine, and
being able to work with the junior highers
enables me to do that. Speaking freely about
Christ in the classroom, with parents and
co-workers is choice. Praying together with
students, their families and faculty regarding
life's battles is another great benefit.
The blessings our own three children received
in attending DCS - being under the influence
of godly teachers and the God- entered environment,
to list only a few - have not yet reached
full fruition in their lives. Sending our
children to DCS was one of the most valuable
investments we have made.
"For I know the plans I have for
you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you...plans
to give you hope and a future" (Jer.
29:11). I thank the Lord that His plans
for our family have included the inestimable
blessing of DCS."

"I am so thankful that the Lord directed
our family to DCS. When we felt the Lord
calling us to the Portland area, we started
praying right away for the right school
where I could teach and the right school
for our boys to attend. There seemed to
be so many choices! My principal and friend
from our former school in Medford suggested
we try Damascus Christian because he was
so impressed with the school's reputation.
I thought Damascus was in the boonies! I
am so glad I made the trip!
Our family loves everything about DCS.
My sons are so happy and learning so much.
I love teaching with such great colleagues
who are so supportive and inspirational.
The students and parents are such a blessing
to me! And my husband loves telling others
about where I work because it opens the
door for conversations about the Lord, and
also because our school has such a good
reputation! I feel humbled and honored that
the Lord is allowing me to teach at DCS."

"My name is Holly. I am a student teacher
at Damascus Christian School in the National
Institute for Learning Disabilities (NILD)
program. While teaching at DCS, I have noticed
many positive and unique characteristics
of the school. Each staff member is committed
to Christ and as a whole, they are committed
to teaching your son or daughter Christian
values as well as academics. From my observation,
the academics are in no way watered down
or made easier because it is a Christian
school. In fact, I would say the standards
are higher than any of the public schools
I have attended. Also, every student is
taught from the Bible every day. Subjects
such as science are taught from a biblical
point of view. The teachers meet daily to
pray for students and other needs. Students
respect the staff and each other. Also,
I have noticed that new students are welcomed
by veteran classmates. It is my prayer that
God will continue to abundantly bless the
staff, parents and students at Damascus
Christian School."

"Differently DCS"
"After teaching in public schools, I
have found Damascus Christian to be a refreshing
haven where inquisitive students daily meet
spiritual and academic challenges. In the
midst of this rigorous training shines genuine
love. D.C.S. students not only demonstrate
a Christ-like love for one another, but
also reveal their heart to spread the Gospel
to the world. Testimonies of their Washington,
D.C. trip and summer short-term missions
demonstrate the heartbeat of D.C.S. What
a privilege to use God's Word in teaching
academic content and to see God bring hearts
nearer to His own!"
