DAMASCUS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT:Damascus Christian School’s mission is to assist Christian parents in the biblical training of their children spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically to help prepare them to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ for God’s glory and the building of His Kingdom. PURPOSE:Damascus Christian School began our Home School Satellite Program, HEARTLINK, in September of 1998. This came as a result of contact with many Christian parents who wished to educate their children at home, yet desired the support and extra opportunities of the Christian school. As part of HEARTLINK, it is possible for parents to educate their children at home and have the resource available to them to encourage them in their sometimes-lonely task. HEARTLINK is a place to glean ideas from others who educate at home, to gain support in areas in which the home school parent may feel ill equipped, and to give their children a more well-rounded education. BENEFITS OF HEARTLINK:1) Provides a gradual transition into the traditional classroom. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: 1) All students must meet the admission requirements of Damascus
Christian School. 1) Request an application packet from the the secretary
of DCS. 1) Parents must commit to making the time teaching their children a high
priority. 1) Students will be enrolled in Damascus Christian School HEARTLINK which
gives fellowship, support, and accountability. RESOURCES NOT AVAILABLE: 1) HEARTLINK students are not considered as graduating students from
DCS. Only full
time students are considered graduates.
ENROLLMENT IN SELECTED CLASSES MAY BE LIMITED DUE TO CLASS SIZE AND PRE-REQUISITES MEETING |
“I am very much afraid that schools will prove to be great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures….engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution where men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt.”
