November 4-9, 2019 Eagle Eye

We have a short but busy week ahead with picture retakes, half days, no school days and Parent/Teacher Conferences. Elementary basketball games also kick off this week. Check out the attached Eagle Eye for a quick overview of this week’s events, meetings and sporting competition.

A big congratulations to our sports teams on their success this past week.  Junior High Volleyball finished their season tied for 3rd at their league playoffs. Cross Country had a great finish to their season at their district meet and Varsity Soccer finished 3rd in their league playoffs. Varsity Volleyball took the win in the 2nd round of Sub-State against Echo and will advance to the State Championship Tournament in Redmond this Friday and Saturday to compete among the top 8 in the state.  Go Eagles!!

Only 2 more days to get an order in for our wreath/poinsettia sale.  These wreaths and poinsettias are fantastic quality and a gorgeous addition to your holiday decor.  The order form is attached and needs to be turned in, along with full payment, to the DCS school office by Tuesday, November 5th.  All wreaths and poinsettias are to be picked up on Thursday, December 5th between 2:30 and 3:45 pm in the lower parking lot.

Not happy with your school pictures?  Simply return your original picture package this Wednesday, November 6th and have your picture retaken.  Missed out on picture day in October? Open the picture day attachment for details on how to order or stop by the school office.

This Thursday, November 7th, from 3:00 - 9:30 pm, we invite you to eat out at Jersey Mike's in Happy Valley!  Jersey Mike's will be donating 30% of all profits to DCS during that time frame (includes online and phone in orders as well)!

Parent/Teacher Conference time is here!

Elementary Conferences: These conferences have been scheduled with the teacher. If you do not have a scheduled conference please contact your student's teacher right away. We cannot overemphasize the importance of Conferences.

Secondary Conferences: Parents with students in 7th – 12th grades will have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers Friday, November 7th, from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M., in the downstairs classrooms.

We trust this schedule will allow our parents an opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers. You simply collect the report card from your son or daughter’s homeroom/1st period teacher and then proceed to touch base with each teacher, if you so choose. We are asking that your time with each teacher not exceed five minutes so as to give each parent opportunity to meet with each teacher. If an extended time is needed or wanted, or if you are unable to meet during the designated time, that can be scheduled with the particular teacher(s) for a later date. We cannot overemphasize the importance of Conferences. Please set aside time during the scheduled date to meet with your child’s teacher.

Veterans Day: This year we will not be having a Veterans Day Program.  Instead, our secondary students taught our elementary students about Veterans Day and helped them Create a Flag that is displayed in the foyer.  Additionally, our students are preparing for a serve day in November to address the practical needs of veterans, first responders and others who serve our community.
